Claude Code는 Anthropic에서 개발한 AI 기반 에이전트 코딩 도구로, 개발자가 터미널 환경에서 자연어 명령어를 통해 코드 작성, 디버깅, 테스트 및 코드베이스 관리 등을 돕는 CLI 도구입니다. 이번 글에서는 2025년 9월 말에 출시된 Claude Code 2.0의 설치 방법을 살펴보겠습니다.
저는 Windows 환경에 설치했으며, Claude Code docs 내 권장 사항으로 소개된 Native Install 방법으로 설치를 진행했습니다. Windows PowerShell을 실행한 이후, 아래 코드를 입력해 줍니다.

코드를 실행하면 아래와 같은 문구들이 나타나며 설치가 완료됩니다. 그런데 저의 경우에는 설치가 완료되었으나 Claude Code의 실행과 관련된 환경 변수가 PATH에 없다는 경고문이 나타났습니다.

일단 해당 경고문을 무시하고 Claude Code가 정상적으로 설치되었을 때 실행되는 'claude --version'을 입력해 봤습니다. Claude Code의 버전이 출력되어야 하는데 claude라는 명령어가 없다는 오류가 발생합니다. 위의 경고문대로 환경 변수가 제대로 설정이 되지 않은 것으로 보입니다.

환경 변수 설정은 다음 순서대로 진행하면 됩니다.
'시스템 환경 변수 편집' 실행 > 환경 변수 > 사용자 변수 내 'Path' > 새로 만들기 > 'C:\Users\{dir}\.local\bin' 링크 추가 ({dir}에는 본인 기기에 맞는 경로 입력) > 순차적으로 확인 3번 클릭 > PowerShell 재실행
다시 'claude --version'을 입력하면 정상적으로 버전이 출력되는 것을 볼 수 있습니다.

이제 Claude Code를 실행해보겠습니다. 'claude'를 입력하면 Claude Code가 실행됩니다. 먼저 Theme을 선택하는 화면이 나타납니다. 선택에 따라 Terminal 창에서 바로 색이 바뀌며 확인할 수 있고, 추후 '/theme' 명령어로 다른 테마로 변경할 수 있습니다.
